Berni & Murcer – Friends for LifeTM goal is to raise funds to create and distribute “Comfort Backpacks” (free of charge) to children diagnosed with cancer and other life threatening illnesses in hospitals throughout the United States as a way of providing emotional support, day-to-day comfort, inspiration, and encouragement during treatment and beyond. To fulfill this mission, we need support from donors like YOU! With your generous contribution, TOGETHER, we have the opportunity to help heal and improve the lives of these children by providing them with vital emotional support. The devastating news of when a child is diagnosed with cancer sends shock waves rippling out in every direction – leveling any semblance of normalcy within the child’s family.  Happiness and wholeness seem irretrievably lost.  The innocence of childhood is now exposed to the raw realities of uncertainty, fear, pain, anxiety, isolation and trauma.  Modern medical treatments and clinical trials go on the offensive to treat and eradicate the cancer with surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and other forms of treatment options, thus leaving in their wake anguish and a ravaged body.  A child once wrote during his hospital stay, “I ask you reader, whoever you may be, take my trembling hand and warm it with care and comfort.  I wait with hope in my heart.” At Berni & Murcer – Friends for Life, we provide a different kind of healing, one that transforms a child’s moment of anxiety into comfort, fear into courage, and despair into hope through our therapeutic “Comfort Backpack” program. All of us at Berni & Murcer - Friends for LifeTM  say... THANK YOU!!!​
